It may sound crazy but every one of my students is now recording Christmas carols, in October! I encourage singers to make recordings of carols to gift to family and friends and I advise them not to wait until the season is upon us to get started, as a cold or any other number of things can keep us from singing our best…why chance waiting? Even having one song recorded makes a beautiful addition to your Christmas email to family and friends. Why not try writing an original carol? Each song we write helps us learn more about ourselves and the writing process. Creating something wonderful for the world would be the best possible gift to give this holiday season, don’t you think?
